About us
The Morning Intelligence is a daily briefing covering the people, politics and policy behind AI in the UK. Since launching in March 2026 it has built a loyal readership across government, industry, regulators, law firms, think tanks and public affairs agencies. It is an independent media business with a sustainable and growing revenue model.
The role
You’ll be our first commercial hire, growing revenue across subscriptions, sponsorships and events. Your mission is to build relationships with organisations that want to connect to our audience and design packages that give them value. You’ll take ownership of the commercial side of the business with the chance to shape how it grows.
You’ll lead on three areas:
- Subscriptions: Manage group subscriptions, develop licensing structures, and run the sales process from first conversation through to renewal.
- Newsletter sponsorship: Sell, price and manage sponsorship of the daily newsletter, working with the editor to keep messaging relevant to readers while keeping sponsorship separate from editorial.
- Webinars and events: Develop and organise sponsored webinars, roundtables, breakfast briefings and in-person events. You’ll work with the editor on format, speakers and promotion.
About you
You’re a relationship builder with a commercial edge who wants autonomy and ownership. You’ll ideally have:
- A track record in partnerships, sales, business development, events or commercial roles, ideally in media, publishing, membership organisations or B2B subscriptions
- A good network in UK tech, policy or public affairs, or the ability to build one quickly
- Confidence setting prices and building packages, and an interest in the numbers behind them
- An understanding of why editorial independence matters and the judgement to protect it
- Self-direction and comfort working in a small team with a founder who is closely involved
Experience with Ghost, CRM tools or newsletter and subscription platforms would help but isn’t essential.
What we offer
- £45,000 salary (FTE), a bonus of up to 20% linked to revenue, and a 5% employer pension contribution
- 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, and a closure between Christmas and New Year
- Share options after the probationary period
- Annual pay reviews
- Hybrid working, with one day a week in Norwich or central London
- Home-working allowance of £40/month plus laptop
- Ownership of partnerships and revenue, with the chance to build the business from the ground up
- A role at the centre of the UK tech policy conversation
How to apply
Send your CV or LinkedIn profile and a short 250-word note on how you’d approach this role, based on your experience, to editor@themorningintelligence.uk by Friday 30 October.
Candidates will be contacted after this date. The three stages of the recruitment process are: a short call, a paid practical task and an in-person interview.
The Morning Intelligence is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and will make reasonable adjustments throughout the process.
Thank you for your interest,
