Good morning,

In reference to yesterday's opener, there is also a train in Doncaster where you can spot polar bears, according to one source. Good to know.

Happening Next Week 📆

The main event is King Charles hosting top tech execs at Dumfries House in Ayrshire (AKA my wedding venue). I think I get put in the Tower if I reveal the day, but one to watch for the photos at least. The event is held under the Ditchley Foundation Rule meaning what is said at Dumfries House, stays at Dumfries House.

The TUC's annual Congress starts in Brighton on Sunday. There are plenty of relevant tech motions being put forward by unions for debate, including one by the CWU on "AI for the benefit of workers and society".

On Tuesday, the Science, Innovation and Technology Committee takes evidence on the machinery of government changes. That afternoon a Lords committee hears about the implementation of the Online Safety Act. The Commons only sits until Tuesday afternoon and the Lords break from Thursday for a month for conference season.

TechUK hosts an event on innovation in local public services on Tuesday, while on Wednesday the LSE starts a two-day conference on AI and the workforce.
