Bans are so 2025
Campaigners unite for 'safety by design' code.
Good morning,
Today I'll mainly be trying to bake my wife a last-minute birthday cake.
Happening Today 📆
Safely delivered: Online safety campaigners are meeting the prime minister this afternoon to hand him a letter calling for strict safety standards to be imposed on tech platforms before they can release products to children. The Online Safety Act Network also launches a "safety by design" code in Parliament at a reception hosted by Labour MP for Worcester Tom Collins this evening. Much more on all that below.
In Parliament: Serial chair Ian Cheshire will be quizzed by MPs on the Science, Innovation and Technology Committee at 9:30am about his suitability for the role of Ofcom chair. Tech ministers will be in the Commons at 11:30am for DSIT questions. MPs have questions lined up on online safety, AI sovereignty and digital inclusion.
Evening plans: Global Tech Advocates host an event called Women Leading Deeptech at Vorboss' office.
