To bill or not to bill?
Where Labour stands ahead of conference.
Happy Friday,
Swift and safe travels to all heading to Liverpool this weekend. Nothing beats the six-hour train journey from Norwich.
VAST Data’s new DataEnclave has launched. It creates hardware-isolated, cryptographically verified environments where AI models can work with an organisation’s most sensitive data without exposing that data to the model provider or the infrastructure operator.
The data owner retains control of their data. The model provider retains control of their IP. The infrastructure operator has access to neither.
For regulated industries and public-sector organisations that have struggled to combine sensitive data with advanced AI, this changes what is possible.
Happening Next Week 📆
In Liverpool: Labour Party Conference starts Sunday and the tech events begin immediately. The Fabian Society kicks things off at 12:30pm with a reception at The Bluecoat on "AI and Good Growth in Every Region". At 2pm, Kanishka Narayan speaks to the Good Growth Foundation at the Anacta Hub. They also have a talk on global AI leadership at 3:30pm in the ACC. The Tony Blair Institute hosts drinks at 8pm (invite-only) with ministers Pat McFadden and Anas Sarwar, sponsored by OpenAI.
Monday: It's "Business Day" which means there are way too many events to list here but see Gavin Freeguard's excellent curation work. Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds gives his speech to the conference floor.
