How to fix 'patchy' AI adoption.

Share

Good morning and happy Tuesday,

There were no jeers for giving an optimistic view on AI, but there was plenty of applause for anyone offering a skeptical take at the Making the Future Work Conference I was at yesterday. More on that below.

Happening Today 📆

Work chat: King's College London hosts an AI Summit on the future of work over the next two days. Speakers include Chi Onwurah, David Willetts and Martha Lane-Fox.

In Parliament: The House of Lords debates the tech parts of the King's Speech this evening. MPs had their turn yesterday and business secretary Peter Kyle clearly enjoyed himself in the debate. He described the regulatory sandboxes outlined in the King's Speech as "economic growth laboratories", although one MP described a lack of AI regulation as "putting the human race at risk". The quality of the debate didn't get much better than that.
