Welcome to the other West Coast: King Charles hosts AI bosses at Dumfries House in Ayrshire this afternoon. Guests include Jensen Huang, Demis Hassabis, OpenAI's chief financial officer Sarah Friar and AI minister Kanishka Narayan. Anthropic will also be represented. The hope is to agree a "shared set of principles" on the development of the technology to uphold "human dignity". (More on the "dignity" part below).
Jobs front: Economist Simon Johnson, who is also chair of the government's AI Economics Institute, is among the speakers at LSE's AI and Labour Markets forum at 11:15am.
Lords: Sits for the last time for almost four weeks and AI may be on the agenda around 11am when Labour peer Jack McConnell asks about objectives for the G20 Summit which the UK hosts next year.
Diary date: The Cyber Security and Resilience Bill will be back in the Lords on October 26th for report stage.
