Today's briefing comes from journalist Joe Fay who visited a huge data centre site at a former coal power station on the US-Canadian border to find out what it takes to build the mega projects the UK is aiming for with its AI Growth Zones.

Evening speech: Danny Kruger, who is leading Reform's prep for a future government, will outline the party's AI policy in a speech this evening. He'll say that the UK must build more of its own capabilities to defend itself. 

In Parliament: It's DSIT questions in the Commons at 11:30am with online safety top of MPs' minds. Tech secretary Liz Kendall is also announcing a "Women in Research Charter" today to strengthen family leave for doctoral researchers. The Environmental Audit Committee continues its look at the environmental impact of data centres at 2:30pm. In the Lords, there is a question about the use of live facial recognition for counter-terrorism.
