Burnham's silence on AI? Don't panic
It cuts across his policy speech.
Happy Tuesday, I've graduated from London cafe-hopping to an actual desk with Wifi. Hallelujah.
How do you get real value from AI?
The PSC has the answer. They’ve developed a framework that aligns AI tools with your organisation’s goals, rather than just individual enthusiasm. It puts your budget and talent where they’ll have the most impact and tracks exactly what is and isn’t working.
How do they know it works?
They’ve used the framework with some of the world’s leading public sector groups who have seen staff confidence in AI and productivity surge.
Happening Today 📆
Incoming: The Competition and Markets Authority is expected to announce draft conduct requirements on Apple and Google's app stores this morning, alongside a call for evidence on digital wallets. The new rules will cover "steering" — moving customers away from paying through app stores to developers' sites and apps — something lobby group the Coalition for App Fairness has long asked for. The CMA's Will Hayter is giving a speech at 9:15am.
We have a plan: Keir Starmer will announce the long-delayed Defence Investment Plan today, which includes £5bn for drones and uncrewed systems, the FT reports.
Cancelled: The Communications and Digital Committee was due to quiz Liz Kendall and Lisa Nandy at 2:30pm on AI-Copyright but the event has been removed from the parliamentary calendar.
Evening plans: TechUK hosts its annual dinner this evening with AI minister Kanishka Narayan giving the keynote.
